1.-Online Chat
-How to find a chat room?
You start by clicking on channel list on the left menu; all the open and live rooms will be listed. You can choose one of them by clicking on the room name, and you’ll be transferred to the web chat client, there you can choose a nick name and click on connect - if the nick that you choose is taken, then you’ll be taken back to the welcome screen to select a different nick.
When you enter a chat room, if you want to register your nickname so only you can use it, just type:
/ns register <password> <email>
Change <password> and <email> to your desired password and your email address.
Important: Don’t forget the slash "/" at the beginning of the command. If you forget the /, it will be shown to other users as a message!
Once you have registered your nick, when you login to any URChat chat room, you should enter your registered nickname your password to the chat room welcome screen before clicking connect.
2.-Creating a Web chat
To have your own web chat you need to register an URChat account, either by using Facebook Connect; you click on login on top menu, then click on facebook connect button and that’s it! You’re registered and ready to go!
The alternate method is accessed by clicking register on the top menu, fill in the required details and click on register button. An email should arrive soon after clicking the register button to verify your URChat account.
Now that you are registered with URChat, click on Create Webchat on the left menu, which opens the web chat creation page, and you will need to click on Create, which will show a form to fill out. Familiarize yourself with the creation form, and you’ll notice that next to each field there’s a brief description of what that field does when it's used.
Please note that all fields are optional except for your channel (room) name. When you type a room name and click anywhere outside that field, an information caption will appear under the room name that will tell you if the desired room name is available or not. It’s always a good idea to login through our web chat then type /join #Your_room_name to check if it’s currently in use (Creating your web chat doesn't mean that your channel is registered on the chat server - you should register it first before creating it here, this step is optional but necessary so you can be sure that you're the founder of the channel on the chat server).
Now you can save it and a webchat page is created, you can find your web chat on http://www.urwebchat.com/YOUR_ROOM_NAME
and you can always edit your webchat by clicking on the same Create Webchat link on the left menu, followed by clicking on the Edit button on the same row as your web chat.
For your convenience, we have created a "manage webchat" area. In this section of the URChat website you can manage your chat with just a click of a button! You can also get assistance with other useful commands. You can find the "manage webchat" link on the same row of the chat that you would like to manage.
